At Long Last, Fall is Here!

Hello my friends,

I hope you are all well and enjoying this weather!

I'm afraid I've been remiss in filling you in since I returned from my trip to Yorkshire, England, to study with my favorite portrait artist, Ruth Fitton. You can see some of her best work here: https://www.ruthfitton.com/viewcollection/141876.

Ed and I had a wonderful time! Ed spent the week in London, his new happy place, while I was at the workshop, meeting artists from all over the world and making new friends. I also learned a lot... hopefully my next portraits will reflect some of this new knowledge!

After the workshop, we took the train up to Edinburgh, took a tour of the highlands of Scotland, and then flew home.

Fall 2025 Postcard

Re-entry to life in Kansas City has been a bit of a blur because we at the Livestock Exchange Building are once again getting ready for Open Studios, November 14-15.

If you've never been to one of our events, maybe this fall is the time! We have over 60 (!) artists participating, music in the lobby and a coffee/food truck on Saturday.

In honor of the upcoming holiday season, I will be featuring small flower and vegetable studies, perfect for small gifts.

At the risk of going on for too long, in case you are not familiar with my work, I typically paint landscapes and portraits. This year, I'm also offering Giclée prints on canvas of some of my paintings. Below left is a narrative portrait based on the myth of Persephone and Demeter I just completed this fall, and below right is one of the images available as a print on canvas.
